| Comme prévu, "Le Secret de Brokeback Mountain", réalisé par le Taiwanais Ang Lee, se retrouve en tête des nominations des prochains Oscars avec huit citations. La cérémonie se tiendra le 5 mars prochain...
Le Secret de Brokeback Mountain, qui fut le grand gagnant de la 63e cérémonie des Golden Globes le 16 janvier dernier à Los Angeles, est notamment cité pour l'oscar du meilleur long métrage, celui du meilleur metteur en scène et celui du meilleur acteur pour Heath Ledger, qui partage la vedette avec Jake Gyllenhaal.
Sont également cités pour l'oscar du meilleur film Capote, sur la vie de l'écrivain Truman Capote, Crash (Collision), de Paul Haggis, Good night, and Good Luck, de George Clooney, et Munich, le dernier opus de Steven Spielberg sur les suites de la prise d'otages des Jeux olympiques de Munich en 1972. Vous remarquerez l'absence de Walk The Line dans cette liste, ce film sur la vie de Johnny Cash considérée comme un probable candidat à l'Oscar du meilleur film. Par contre, Joaquin Phoenix et Reese Whitherspoon concourent pour leur interprétation dans le film.
Outre Ledger et Phoenix, sont en lice pour le titre de meilleur acteur Philip Seymour Hoffman (Capote), Terrence Howard (Hustle and Flow) et David Strathairn (Good Night, and Good Luck).
Pour l'oscar de la meilleure actrice, seront en compétition Judi Dench (Madame Henderson présente), Felicity Huffman (Transamerica), Keira Knightley (Orgueil et préjugés), Charlize Theron (North Country) et Reese Witherspoon (Walk the Line).
Du côté français, Joyeux Noël de Christian Carion se retrouve en compétition dans la catégorie du meilleur film étranger. Il aura fort à faire avec le film palestinien Paradise now. Enfin, La Marche de l'Empereur concourra dans la catégorie du meilleur film documentaire!
